Pugacheva hints at 2027 when asked about Russia's future
Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva, asked about Russia's future in an interview in September 2025, urged people to remember 2027 but did not say what she meant. Her words are again being discussed in the media and on social networks.
Alla Pugacheva, a Russian pop legend, mysteriously mentioned the year 2027 in an interview about Russia's future and urged people to remember it. The singer did not reveal which events she links to that year. The remark was made in September 2025, but it periodically resurfaces in media coverage and social media discussions.
What Pugacheva said
In a conversation with journalist Katerina Gordeeva, Pugacheva was asked about Russia's future and how events might unfold. She declined to say what she knows, stating that she has no right to talk about it. She then added: "Let's wait for 2027, remember – 2027!"
Speculation about the hint
The words have prompted various guesses. Opera singer and former Russian State Duma deputy Maria Maksakova told the Ukrainian outlet Glavred that Pugacheva may have access to information that is not publicly known. According to Maksakova, the singer may have been referring to discontent within the inner circle of Russian President Vladimir Putin. She explained that Pugacheva is extremely popular across all layers of society and keeps in touch with many people, so she likely has much broader information.
Maksakova rejected the idea that the statement was merely a mystical prediction. In her view, the singer most likely overheard clear hints in behind-the-scenes conversations about what is happening within Russia's ruling elite.
Pugacheva and Russia
Pugacheva left Russia with her family soon after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, first going to Israel. After a brief return to Moscow, she left the country for good in autumn 2022, shortly after her husband, comedian Maxim Galkin, was designated a "foreign agent" in Russia. The artist regularly spends summers in Jūrmala, Latvia, but her permanent residence is currently in Cyprus.
