Qualcomm plans to raise processor prices by end of summer
According to Bloomberg, Qualcomm will increase processor prices by a double-digit percentage next month, affecting costs of smartphones and other devices.

Qualcomm, one of the world’s largest smartphone processor makers, is planning to raise prices across its products by a double-digit percentage, according to Bloomberg. The company has already sent letters to its customers informing them of the upcoming changes. The new, higher prices will apply to processors shipped after September 1.
Qualcomm dominates the Android landscape, with its chips powering flagship models such as Samsung’s Galaxy series, including the latest foldables Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8. Its processors are also used in Microsoft CoPilot+ PCs and Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. The price hike could have a significant impact on pricing across various brands and device categories.
The company stated it can no longer absorb the higher costs of components from its suppliers and has already tried to source alternative components from new sources. Qualcomm’s chips are mostly manufactured by TSMC, which is currently facing supply chain constraints. Like many tech firms, Qualcomm is feeling the effects of memory and component shortages driven by immense demand from AI data center buildouts.
Bloomberg notes that Qualcomm’s sales have been down this year because its clients haven’t been able to produce enough devices due to shortages. However, the company posted revenue above forecasts for the second quarter of 2026.
