R. Bērziņš moves to Iceland, following fellow Latvians
Latvian basketball player R. Bērziņš transfers from "Rīgas Zeļļi" to an Icelandic club in Reykjavík, continuing the trend of Latvian players in that team.

25-year-old basketball player Roberts Bērziņš is continuing his career in Iceland. He has left the Latvian club "Rīgas Zeļļi", where he spent the last two seasons, to join the Reykjavík-based team.
Last season in the Latvian-Estonian league, Bērziņš averaged 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
The Reykjavík club is well-known to Latvian fans – last season it featured Toms Leimanis, Rinalds Mālmanis, and Linards Jaunzems. Jaunzems will remain with the team for the upcoming season.
In the previous season, the Reykjavík team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Icelandic league but won the Icelandic Cup. Jaunzems was named the most valuable player of the Cup final.
Bērziņš becomes another Latvian basketball player choosing to play in Iceland, following the trend set in previous years.
