Radio “EHR Latviešu Hiti” announces first ten finalists for “Song of the Year” award

Latvian radio station “EHR Latviešu Hiti” revealed the first ten finalists for its “Song of the Year” award at an event in Riga, with the winner to be chosen by listener vote in December. The prize is a new car for touring.

On Friday, at the terrace of the LIDO Recreation Centre in Riga, radio station “EHR Latviešu Hiti” held an event announcing the first ten song finalists competing for the “Song of the Year” award. Several musicians and other public figures attended.

Voting for the year's most popular and widely played songs began on May 29, with radio listeners and music fans casting their votes. The finalists announced will compete for the title “Song of the Year 2026,” to be decided in December.

Main prize

The winner will receive a Volkswagen Multivan Life hybrid with 4MOTION all-wheel drive, provided by the company Mobire.lv. The vehicle is intended for use during concert tours throughout next year's season.

Event highlights

Guests at the finalist announcement event had the chance to meet several figures from the Latvian music scene in person, including YŪT, Marta Ritova, Marshal, “Musiqq,” and Tikashu Sakamu. Attendees also enjoyed a special “Song of the Year MASHUP” performance prepared by the group “Audiokvartāls.”

Organizers stated that the remaining ten finalists will be revealed on November 27, after which the overall winner will be determined in December based on the votes of listeners and fans.
