The University of Latvia's radio station "Radio Naba," part of Latvian Radio 6, is celebrating its 24th anniversary with the launch of a photography contest titled "Strings." The initiative invites both established and aspiring photographers to express their interpretation of radio and the broader world of sound through images.

Submission and judging process

Those interested can submit their entries until November 5. After the deadline passes, a jury will review the submitted works and select the strongest entries.

Path to exhibitions

The photographs chosen by the jury will not only be judged for quality — they will also be put forward for a public popularity vote, giving a wider audience the chance to weigh in on the submitted works. In addition, the selected photographs will become part of a traveling exhibition, allowing them to be viewed by audiences in multiple locations.

The "Strings" photo contest is one of the ways "Radio Naba" is marking its milestone anniversary, while also bringing visual artists into the conversation about interpreting radio and sound as themes.
