Emma Raducanu will not compete in the US Open in New York. The British tennis player had already missed Wimbledon because of injury, and she has now withdrawn from the tournament in New York as well.

In 2021, Raducanu shocked the tennis world by winning the US Open. That title in New York remains the only Grand Slam final she has reached in her career. Since then, she has only once made it past the first round.

During the grass-court season this summer, Raducanu suffered a stress fracture in her right leg. The injury forced her to skip Wimbledon. She recently returned to the court, but she still has to move with the help of an orthotic boot. Because of this, the decision was made not to take any risks and to skip the US Open, which begins in New York on August 23.

Over the past year, Raducanu has struggled with injuries and health issues. In June, she reached the final of the Queen's Club tournament, but she has not played since.
