Truck Trailer Overturns in Ragana After Sudden Braking, Cargo Spills

A traffic incident occurred around 4:00 PM on Thursday in Ragana, Krimulda Parish, when a truck trailer overturned after the driver applied emergency brakes, causing its cargo of timber to spill onto the roadway and into an adjacent ditch. According to colleagues of the truck driver, a stork had entered the road ahead, forcing several vehicles to brake suddenly. The truck driver also braked hard to avoid a collision but realized that the heavy trailer would not stop in time. He attempted to steer into the oncoming lane, but the trailer tipped over and overturned. No people were injured in the accident, and the stork also remained unharmed. The trailer and a road safety barrier were damaged. Most of the cargo was collected, though some materials may be damaged. Traffic in the area was temporarily halted due to the incident.
