Real cost of Rail Baltica to be revealed in September
Latvian Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis announced that the actual cost of the Rail Baltica project will be known this September, with the ministry relying on consultants' assessment.

In an interview with the LETA news agency, Latvian Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis stated that the definitive cost of the Rail Baltica railway project will be disclosed this September. The minister emphasized his reluctance to speculate on the total expenditure, as the figures have been subject to frequent revisions – almost on a weekly basis. According to Kozlovskis, the Ministry of Transport is depending on the expertise of hired consultants, whose responsibilities include not only verifying the financial aspects but also crafting a comprehensive project management framework. The consultants' findings will serve as the basis for the final cost estimate. Kozlovskis reiterated that without the consultants' completed analysis, any discussion of the budget would be premature. He expressed confidence that the forthcoming data will provide clarity for all stakeholders involved in the project.
