On August 4, the concert program "Tu nāc, tu ej" (You Come, You Go) premiered at the Daile Music House, where composer and pianist Raimonds Pauls himself became the evening's surprise. During the event, the Maestro revealed that he had started singing on stage.

Inspired by a younger generation

Pauls explained that his decision to try vocals was influenced by young jazz singer Gerda Timrota, whose performance in the premiere program inspired him to attempt singing himself. The composer expressed surprise that he was taking this step so late in life.

The premiere drew particular attention because Raimonds Pauls is known in Latvian music primarily as a composer and pianist rather than as a singer. His vocal appearance during the concert program was seen as an unexpected and notable moment of the evening.
