This summer, from July 4 to August 30, the Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” will present two new exhibitions that explore cultural heritage and the beauty of everyday life.

The first exhibition, “Kuzņecovs Meet at Jasmuiža,” features a porcelain collection by collector Žanna Osipova. It highlights the connection between the Jasmuiža estate and the renowned Kuzņecov porcelain dynasty. In the 19th century, the Kuzņecov family owned the estate, and during that time, the poet Rainis also lived at Jasmuiža. The collection includes porcelain items from various eras, among them Riga porcelain and pieces from the Kuzņecov factory. Osipova’s interest in porcelain began in childhood, but she started collecting systematically in 2021.

The second exhibition, “Everyday Beauty” by artist Jana Nesteroviča, focuses on the aesthetic value of ordinary objects. Her paintings depict teacups, flower vases, fruit, pets, and garden motifs transformed through fantasy and memory. Nesteroviča explains that her works are not fairy tales in the traditional sense but a subtle transformation of reality that reveals wonder in everyday items. Her style is characterized by ornamental backgrounds reminiscent of old fabrics or wallpapers, and a world where people, animals, and objects coexist.

Both exhibitions will be open until August 30. The opening of “Everyday Beauty” is on July 4 at 2:00 PM, and a meeting with Žanna Osipova is scheduled for July 11 at 2:00 PM.
