Rangers drop points at Dundee as Neil error denies them top spot
Glasgow's Rangers drew 2-2 at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership after a Dan Neil backpass led to the equaliser. The result leaves Celtic able to extend their lead to four points.

Rangers drew 2-2 away to Dundee in a Scottish Premiership football match on Saturday night at Dens Park, missing the chance to return to the top of the table. The Glasgow club had arrived in Dundee on a run of seven consecutive wins.
Dundee had the better of the first half and went ahead through Bradley Fink. Rangers' Badredine Bouanani levelled just before the interval. After the break, Rangers raised their intensity and took control, and appeared to be heading for an eighth straight victory when Nicolas Raskin scored with a long-range strike to put them in front.
Late on, however, Dan Neil sent a mishit backpass towards goalkeeper Ivor Pandur. Callum Jones seized on it to make it 2-2 and earn Dundee a point.
Manager: 'like a balloon popping'
Rangers manager Derek McInnes told BBC Scotland that the equaliser came from a mistake by his side and felt "like a balloon popping". He said the team had to dig deep and try again but never quite reached the same level. McInnes described the result as a missed opportunity, while acknowledging that Dundee had been good value in the first half. He added that a team cannot go away from home and need to score three goals to win.
Effect on the table
The draw lets Glasgow rivals Celtic extend their lead at the top of the league to four points if they win. Celtic host Edinburgh's Hearts on Sunday at 15:00 BST.
