Rangers turn down Besiktas bid for Raskin as Aasgaard nears Anderlecht move
Rangers have rejected an offer from Besiktas for midfielder Nico Raskin, who has attracted interest after a strong World Cup showing. Manager Derek McInnes says he has no doubt the player will keep performing well if he stays.
Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin continues to be linked with a departure from the Scottish club after catching the eye with his performances at the World Cup. An offer from Turkish side Besiktas for the 25-year-old has, however, been turned down.
Raskin has sat out Rangers' last two fixtures while speculation over his future continues. Manager Derek McInnes, though, praised the player's attitude throughout the period of uncertainty.
Manager's comments
"Until an offer comes in that the club need to consider, Nico just has to knuckle down and train," McInnes said earlier this week. He added that he has no doubts Raskin will continue to give brilliant service to Rangers if the transfer window closes without a move happening, just as he has done before.
McInnes acknowledged that the interest in Raskin stems from his quality as a player. "I want to work with good players. We just need to wait and see how things develop," he said.
