The Rapla Church Music Festival concluded with a concert that featured compositions by Arvo Pärt and the Requiem by British composer John Rutter. The Tallinn Chamber Choir and the mixed choir Cantus performed under the batons of Heli Jürgenson and Martin Trudnikov. The soloist was Mariliis Lahesalu (soprano), with Ene Salumäe playing the organ.
The concert also included a chamber ensemble consisting of Mari-Liis Vind (flute), Saale Kivimäker (harp), Andreas Lend (cello), Aleksandr Hännikäinen (oboe), Gertrud Leopard (glockenspiel), and Teodor Hirvoja (timpani).
According to festival artistic director Pille Lill, this year's festival focused on a message of peace and the desire to bring light and inner support to people through music. She stated that John Rutter's Requiem is a message of peace that humanity needs now, emphasizing that peace is not only the absence of external conflicts but also a person's ability to find inner balance and strength.
In the church garden, a creative meeting was held in memory of composer and writer Enn Vetemaa, a native of Raplamaa. Memories were shared by Li Seppel-Ehin and Eve Vetemaa.
