Riga Deputy Mayor Ratnieks earned over 72,000 euros last year, declaration shows

Riga Deputy Mayor Edvards Ratnieks, a member of the National Alliance party, has declared receiving 72,000 euros from the Riga municipality last year as part of his official duties.

The figure was disclosed in his annual official income and asset declaration, a document that state and municipal officials in Latvia are required to submit each year. These declarations list income, property and other financial information and are made publicly available as part of the country's transparency mechanisms, allowing the public to monitor officials' earnings and financial activity.

Ratnieks currently serves as deputy mayor on the Riga City Council, and the declared income corresponds to his work in that position over the past year.
