Razer unveils cheaper wireless speaker head cushion, Clio X
Razer showed off the Clio X at PAX West 2026, a more affordable version of its head cushion with a built-in wireless speaker. Priced at $110, it costs less than half of the original Clio.
Gaming gear maker Razer introduced a new product at PAX West 2026 called the Clio X, a budget-friendly follow-up to last year's Clio head cushion with an integrated wireless speaker. While the original Clio launched at $230, the new version comes in at $110.
Different sound setup
According to Razer, the main distinction between the two models lies in their acoustic design. The flagship Clio relies on 43mm full-range aluminum cone drivers, whereas the Clio X uses two 38mm loudspeakers paired with two 55mm passive radiators. Razer claims this more compact setup still delivers immersive sound thanks to THX Spatial Audio, which converts standard stereo output into 360-degree spatial audio.
Compatibility and connectivity
The Clio X works with all of Razer's gaming chairs, attaching to the headrest via an adjustable nylon strap. It connects to a computer using Razer's proprietary HyperSpeed 2.4GHz wireless technology, built for competitive gaming to minimize latency. Users who want extra sound options can also link the cushion to a soundbar.
Power requirements
The device needs a 15W USB-C power source, such as a power bank, though one isn't included in the box. Razer recommends using a PD2.0-compliant power source, warning that a non-PD source will cap the power draw and reduce maximum volume. The company also suggests a power bank with at least 10,000mAh capacity, since battery life depends on the bank's own capacity. The Clio X is now available through Razer's website and retail stores.
