Red Bull Show Run on August 15: rally driver Mārtiņš Sesks to appear on Riga's riverside
As part of Riga's 825th anniversary celebrations, a Red Bull Show Run motorsport event will take place on the city's riverside on August 15, featuring WRC driver Mārtiņš Sesks, a BMW M4 drift show and a Formula 1 car.
Riga's 825th anniversary festivities on August 15 will include a Red Bull Show Run motorsport event held along the city's riverside embankment. WRC-class driver Mārtiņš Sesks has spoken about his participation in the event.
What visitors can expect
Alongside Sesks' performance, spectators will be able to watch a drift show featuring a BMW M4, previously staged at the Bikernieki racing complex and now brought to the riverside as well. The program also includes a Formula 1 car display — the car has already arrived in Riga and will be shown to the public at 14:00 and 15:00.
Traffic changes
Preparations for the event are affecting traffic in the city centre, with the 11. novembra embankment closed to vehicles starting August 11. The closure is linked to Riga City Festival activities in the Old Town and along the riverside, and may cause additional congestion in the centre during the festival days.
