Reišulis takes third in South Africa round, Jonass finishes ninth

Jānis Reišulis secured third place in the MX2 class, while Pauls Jonass placed ninth in the MXGP class at the 11th round of the World Motocross Championship in Johannesburg.

The 11th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the MXGP class, Latvia's Pauls Jonass finished ninth overall. He achieved a strong fourth place in the first race but dropped to 13th in the second. Both motos were won by championship leader Lukas Coenen of Belgium, followed by Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings in second and Frenchman Romain Febvre in third each time. The same order stands in the championship standings, where Jonass ranks tenth with 268 points.

In the MX2 class, Jānis Reišulis claimed third overall with 38 points (fourth and third in the races). He beat home rider Camden Maklelan by one and a half seconds. Spaniard Guillem Farres and German Simon Langenfelder, who went 1-2 in both motos, finished ahead by eight and three seconds respectively. Championship leader Sacha Coenen of Belgium placed fourth after a crash in the second race, scoring 37 points.

Kārlis Reišulis placed seventh in both races, earning 28 points and seventh overall in the round. In the season standings, Jānis Reišulis sits sixth with 400 points, while Kārlis is eighth with 307.
