At the Motocross World Championship round in Uddevalla, Sweden, Latvian brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reišulis of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team secured solid results, though the weekend brought its share of challenges for both riders.

Jānis Reišulis' weekend

Jānis showed strong pace throughout the weekend, setting the fourth-fastest qualifying time and posting the quickest lap in Sunday morning's warm-up. In the first moto he ran third for much of the race before being overtaken late on by Camden McLellan, finishing fourth. In the second moto he sat fifth after the opening lap but slipped back to finish sixth.

With results of 4-6, Jānis claimed fifth overall for the round. He described the results as somewhat disappointing though not truly bad, noting his pace was strong, particularly in the first moto, while the second race proved more difficult. Overall he viewed the weekend positively and thanked the Yamaha team for their work. He remains sixth in the season standings with 552 points.

Kārlis Reišulis battles through crashes

Kārlis faced a tougher weekend marked by several falls. In the first moto he was caught up in an incident with another rider on the opening lap and had to fight back from the rear of the field, eventually finishing tenth through a strong comeback effort. The second moto went more smoothly, with Kārlis finishing seventh, also securing seventh overall for the round.

He revealed he had injured his leg in a qualifying crash and fell three times over the weekend. In the first moto he was taken down by two other riders after a reasonable start, but managed to fight his way forward again. In the second moto, while running in a good position, he ran off the track but recovered, passed several riders and finished seventh. Kārlis expressed satisfaction with how the second race unfolded given the weekend's difficult start. He sits seventh in the season standings with 441 points.
