The first race of the MX2 World Championship round in Turkey ended in a convincing win for current title holder Simon Langenfelder. Red plate holder Guillem Farres had taken the early lead, but Langenfelder moved to the front and controlled the race through to the finish.

Farres crossed the line in second place, while Camden McLellan took third after Liam Everts crashed out in the closing laps. A major turning point in the championship came when title contender Sacha Coenen suffered a heavy crash, effectively ending his hopes of winning the overall standings this season.

Latvians within the top ten

Latvian fans followed the performance of the Reišulis brothers closely. Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis held steady between eighth and ninth place through the early laps, showing solid pace in difficult conditions. His brother Kārlis Alberts Reišulis fought nearby for much of the race and secured valuable championship points at the finish, again proving his competitiveness at world championship level.

Both brothers completed the first race inside the top ten. More information on the round is expected to follow.
