Man found lying on road in Rembates parish, intoxicated
On the night of July 21, police in Rembates parish found a man from Smiltene lying on the road, heavily intoxicated; he was taken to a detoxification center and issued a warning.
Shortly before midnight on July 21, a sleeping man was spotted on the road near a property in Rembates parish. When police arrived, the man could not stand up on his own, was disoriented, and had a strong smell of alcohol. He stated that he lives in Smiltene and had nowhere to stay.
He was taken to Ogre District Hospital, where his intoxication was clinically confirmed and a medical opinion issued allowing him to be placed in a detoxification center, where he was subsequently taken.
An administrative proceeding was initiated for being in a public place while intoxicated, and a warning was issued.
