Retroid has officially released details about its upcoming handheld console, the Pocket Nova, which promises strong performance at a budget-friendly price. The device is powered by a Qualcomm QCS8550 processor, very similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, allowing it to handle games from the PS2 and GameCube era.
Key Specifications
The Pocket Nova features a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, ideal for classic console titles. It packs a 5000mAh battery with USB-C fast charging, supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity, and weighs under nine ounces. Storage can be expanded via a microSD slot.
Pricing and Availability
The entry-level model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at $229, while a version with 12GB of RAM and the same storage costs $269. Preorders are open now, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
