NBS Industry Day in Rēzekne spotlights Latvian-made defense technologies

On Sunday, September 6, the National Armed Forces (NBS) Industry Day took place in Rēzekne near Lake Kovšu. Visitors could see military and dual-use technologies developed by Latvian companies and watch live demonstrations on land, in the air and on water.

The event was intended to promote cooperation between the Latvian defense industry and the NBS, giving companies an opportunity to present their solutions and how they might contribute to national defense. It was open to the general public, allowing attendees to inspect not only locally made technology but also equipment used by the NBS and allied forces.

The gathering brought together 70 Latvian companies working in military and dual-use technology. Among the participants were Defense Minister Raivis Melnis and NBS commander Lieutenant General Kaspars Pudāns.

A central part of the day was the live demonstration organized by the Ministry of Defense. Companies showed their technologies in action in three environments: ground, air and water. The program also included a tactical briefing and presentations by industry representatives. From 11:40 a.m. until 3 p.m., visitors could watch various unmanned systems and other defense solutions, including air, land and water drones.

Organizers noted that the demonstrations helped both NBS personnel and the public get a closer look at what the local industry can offer and how technologies developed in Latvia could be used for defense. The Industry Day was organized by the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the State Defense Logistics and Procurement Center and the NBS.
