Rēzekne region continues assessing damage from late-August storm

Several days after a destructive storm swept through the Rēzekne region on August 22, the assessment of the damage it caused is still ongoing.

Initial efforts focused on restoring traffic: roads blocked by trees knocked down by the wind have already been cleared and reopened. However, the situation elsewhere in the region shows that much work remains.

One of the sites affected by the storm is the Malta history museum, where damage occurred that threatens the building or its surroundings. To prevent further risks and protect the museum, arborists are on site removing hazardous trees and branches.
