Director Elza Gauja films her third feature, 'Marry and Die'

Latvian film director Elza Gauja is working on her latest project, a third feature film titled 'Marry and Die.' Filming began on the island of Saaremaa, Estonia, where the director marked her 33rd birthday on set. Production is now actively continuing at several locations in Riga.

Previous work

Gauja has already earned recognition in the Latvian film industry. Her film 'Mom Is Still Smiling' received several nominations at Latvia's national film award, the Lielais Kristaps. Her second feature, 'Postcard from Rome,' was named the best feature film of 2023.

The new project, 'Marry and Die,' marks Gauja's third feature film, with production currently underway across both Estonia and Latvia.
