In matchday 29 of the Latvian top division, RFS and Liepāja played out a goalless draw at LNK Sports Park despite RFS generating a long list of chances. The match marked the coaching debut of Jurijs Žigajevs, who recently joined Viktors Morozs' staff.

Early on, a mistaken pass from Vladislavs Sorokins gifted Jānis Ikaunieks a clear sight of goal, but Liepāja defender Taliska threw himself in the way to block the effort. Later, Rostans Ndžikī headed a close-range chance wide from a corner, and goalkeeper Dāvis Ošs denied Ikaunieks again just before halftime.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Ikaunieks fired straight at the goalkeeper after Lašs Odišarija dribbled past three defenders, and Ndžikī later blazed a shot over the bar from inside the box. When news arrived that Riga was trailing Daugavpils in the parallel match, RFS pushed harder for a goal, though goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics twice played risky passes that nearly gifted Liepāja an opening.

Late substitute Darko Lemajičs of Serbia had three separate chances to score after entering the match but failed to convert any. Liepāja gave a debut to Kyrgyzstani player Beknazs Almazbekovs, who previously played in Ukraine's top league.

Meanwhile at Skonto Stadium, Riga equalized against Daugavpils to finish 1:1. With both capital rivals dropping points, the gap at the top of the table remained unchanged, with RFS still four points ahead of Riga.
