RFS aims to reclaim top spot in Liepāja; Ogre United face Tukums

Two matches of the 20th round of the Latvian Virslīga are scheduled for today. At 18:00, Ogre United hosts Tukums 2000 in Ogre, with live coverage on TV4 and Sportacentrs.com. At 19:00, Liepāja welcomes RFS in Liepāja; the match will be streamed on Sportacentrs.com, with the second half also on TV4.

Ogre United achieved their first-ever Virslīga victory in the previous round, but then suffered a heavy 0-6 defeat against RFS. Tukums, meanwhile, lost 1-4 to Jelgava in their last game, following a 2-1 win over Auda. Both teams have suspensions: Ogre's Timofijs Marusijs is out for one match, while Tukums' Kristers Volkovs misses this and the next game. In their first meeting this season, the teams drew 1-1; in the second, Tukums won 6-1. Tukums forward Oloko Ede leads the league with 16 goals.

RFS, who have won nine of their last ten matches (the only loss coming in the Riga derby), face Liepāja. Since Riga drew 0-0 with Daugavpils, RFS can move back to the top of the standings with a win or draw. RFS have won both previous matches against Liepāja this season (1-0 and 5-0). RFS boast the best defence and second-best attack in the league. Darko Lemajičs is the club's top scorer with 10 goals, followed by Stefan Paničs with 7. Liepāja's leading scorer is Kivons Leidsmans with 5 goals.
