Riga Football School (RFS) continued their successful run in European competitions on Thursday evening, recording a commanding 2-0 victory over Northern Irish side Glentoran at home. The result gave them a 4-1 aggregate win and a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.

The hosts struck early. In the fifth minute, Rostand Ndjiki dribbled down the left flank, beat a defender, and pulled the ball back to the edge of the six-yard box. Modou Sady was on hand to tap into an empty net, making it 1-0. Just six minutes later, the visitors were forced into an early substitution due to an injury to defender Daniel Larmour, with Marcus Kane coming on.

RFS doubled their lead early in the second half. In the 61st minute, a defensive error by Glentoran allowed Ndjiki to intercept the ball, race into the box, and square it to Janis Ikaunieks, who rolled the ball into an unguarded goal to make it 2-0. The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.

In the first leg in Belfast, RFS came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to a brace from Martins Kigurs. Next, the Latvian champions will face the loser of the UEFA Europa League qualifying tie between Azerbaijan's Qarabag and Iceland's Vestri. To reach the group stage of the UEFA Conference League, RFS must overcome three more rounds: two qualifying rounds and one play-off.
