On Sunday, RFS hosted second-placed Riga in the headline fixture of round 27 of Latvia's Virsliga football championship. The match ended in a 3:3 draw, with Riga having led 1:0 at halftime.

Riga opened the scoring in the first half after converting a penalty kick. The second half brought a flurry of goals: RFS equalized, only for Riga to retake the lead soon after. RFS then leveled the score again with a well-placed free-kick effort. Riga briefly regained the advantage a third time when a defensive clearance attempt went into their own net, but the home side responded within minutes with a header to secure the final 3:3 scoreline.
