For many years, one of the most anticipated events of the Riga city festival has been the round-the-clock basketball tournament known as the 'Banks Match,' where teams traditionally representing the two banks of the Daugava river compete against each other. This year, on Saturday, August 15, the competition takes place at Esplanāde park, marking the 17th edition of the tournament.
Preparations and surprises
In an interview with Latvian Television, tournament host Sandis Miltovičs spoke about the preparations underway for the event. He also revealed that spectators can expect more than just the basketball matches themselves — organizers promise additional surprises that will make the event loud, stylish and beautiful.
