Traffic restored on Tvaika Street in Riga after Sarkandaugava fire
Riga City Council reopened Tvaika Street in the Sarkandaugava district to vehicles at 4 p.m. on Saturday, after it was restricted following a large fire. Public transport routes and traffic rules at the Tilta Street and Ganību dambis junction are also changing.

Vehicle traffic on Tvaika Street in Riga's Sarkandaugava district was restored at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The street had been restricted earlier this week after a large fire, with firefighting work taking place at Tvaika Street 4. The information comes from Riga City Council.
As the street reopens, the temporary traffic arrangements at the junction of Tilta Street and Ganību dambis have been cancelled as well.
What changes for drivers
While Tvaika Street was closed, the "No entry" road sign at that junction was temporarily removed. This allowed drivers to travel from the railway crossing toward Ganību dambis. The sign will now be put back, so driving in that direction will no longer be allowed.
The city council urges drivers to be careful, especially at this junction, to follow road signs and to keep in mind that the temporary route from the railway crossing to Ganību dambis will no longer be available.
Public transport
Public transport is also affected. On Saturday, trolleybus route 3 resumed running on its regular route to Kundziņsala, with the first trip from Sarkandaugava departing at 1:51 p.m.
The temporary bus route 95 is being discontinued. From Monday, 9 November, buses on route 49 will again use their usual route along Tvaika Street.
