On Wednesday, July 1, the Riga Contemporary Art Space hosted the opening of Yelena Glazova's solo exhibition “A Person Surname Universe.” The event attracted creative personalities who were the first to view the artist's new works. A photoreport captured the moments of the opening.
Yelena Glazova is an internationally known Latvian poet, artist, and conceptual music author. Her creative work spans text, visual art, and experimental sound, creating a diverse intersection of these media. Although Glazova primarily writes poetry in Russian, her works are widely translated into Latvian and other languages, and she actively participates in Latvia's contemporary poetry scene.
Her debut collection “Transfers” (2013) was nominated for the Latvian Literature Annual Award, followed by “Plasma” (2014), “Greed” (2019), and “Naivety” (2022). The exhibition “A Person Surname Universe” is further evidence of her multifaceted talent and ability to combine different art forms.
