Fire in electrical panels injures one in Riga apartment block
A fire broke out in the electrical distribution panels of a ten-storey residential building on Pūces Street in Riga on Saturday, injuring one person.

One person was injured in a fire that broke out in a ten-storey apartment building on Pūces Street in Riga on Saturday, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reported.
The emergency call was received at 2:52 p.m. On arrival, firefighters found that electrical distribution panels between the third and sixth floors were ablaze, with the fire covering a total area of 15 square metres.
Evacuation and the injured person
Before rescuers arrived, seven residents had already evacuated the building on their own, while firefighters rescued two more people. One person was injured in the incident and handed over to paramedics from the Emergency Medical Service.
The fire was fully extinguished by 4:46 p.m. VUGD has not yet provided information on the possible cause of the fire.
