Riga FC secured their place in the final qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League with a late goal in yesterday's away match against Győri ETO. The Latvian champions had won the first leg 1:0, and despite conceding an equalizer in the return game, Kaju's 89th-minute shot sealed a 1:1 draw on the night and a 2:1 aggregate victory.

Riga's opponent in the playoff round will be the loser of the UEFA Europa League third-round tie between Lech Poznań and KÍ Klaksvík. Lech hold a narrow advantage from the first leg, having won 1:0. The decisive second match was initially under threat and was postponed by one day, but it will now take place tonight.

Lech Poznań have confirmed that they have arrived in the Faroe Islands for the fixture, posting a message on social media with the text "Wylądowaliśmy" and a Faroese flag. The Polish side therefore controls its own destiny: with a one-goal cushion, a draw or victory would be enough to progress.

The result of tonight's match will determine which team Riga FC face in the playoff round, with a place in the Conference League group stage at stake.
