The potential next opponent for Latvian champions Riga in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, Hungarian club ETO Győr, secured a dominant 6-2 away victory over Luxembourg's reigning champions Atert Biissen in the first leg of the second qualifying round.

Győr struck twice in the opening 24 minutes, added another two just before half-time, and sealed the win with two more goals at the end of regular time. Gambian forward Nfansu Ndjī scored a brace, while Claudiu Bumba (Romania), Milan Vitāliss, Viktor Džukanovičs (Montenegro), and Kevin Bānāti each found the net once.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, the match was more balanced than the result suggests – Biissen actually recorded more shots (21 to Győr's 15) but lacked efficiency in front of goal. Győr had previously been eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers by Vikingur Reykjavík (0-1 and 2-2), while Biissen lost both legs to Faroese side Klaksvík (1-2 each).

Riga are currently facing Vardar Skopje of North Macedonia in a two-legged tie. The first match is scheduled for July 22, with the return leg on July 28. If Riga advance, they will meet Győr in the next round, with matches expected on August 1 and 8.

Other Latvian clubs also competing in the Conference League qualifiers include Liepāja (vs Austria Wien), RFS (vs Vestri of Iceland), and Auda (vs Romanian giants FCSB).
