Merko Mājas begins construction of second building in Lucavsala project in Riga
Developer Merko Mājas has started building the second residential building in its Lucavsala quarter in Riga, offering a wider range of apartments and expanding the landscaped grounds. Only the last larger apartments remain unsold in the first building.

Developer Merko Mājas has begun construction of the second residential building within its Lucavsala housing project in Riga, continuing the development it started earlier. Construction work is being carried out by Merko Būve.
Apartment offering
The new building will offer apartments ranging from one to four rooms, with floor areas between 28 and 80 square meters, available in 11 different layout types. The ground floor will include a separate townhouse-style unit with its own entrance and terrace, a commercial space, and a lockable storage room for bicycles and strollers. Apartment prices are expected to range from 95,000 to 248,000 euros.
While only the last three- and four-room apartments remain for sale in the project's first building, the second building will offer a broader selection, including more one- and two-room units as well as new layouts for larger apartments.
Developer's comments
Roberts Rēboks, a board member of Merko Mājas, said that buyer interest in the first building, where only a few apartments remain available, shows that people are willing to choose homes outside Riga's traditional residential neighborhoods. He described the start of construction on the second building as the next step in developing the quarter, with each subsequent phase continuing the company's plan to create a modern, well-planned residential environment in Lucavsala.
Expanded landscaping
Alongside construction of the second building, the project's landscaped grounds will also be expanded, merging with the courtyard of the first building to form a unified outdoor space. The shared courtyard will include children's playgrounds, green areas, and a greenhouse with planting beds for residents' use.
