Riga hosts annual Royal Corgi Walk in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

For the fourth consecutive year, central Riga is today, on September 11, hosting the Royal Corgi Walk, an event bringing together corgi owners and their dogs to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's well-known love of the breed.

Event schedule

Participants will gather and register at Bastejkalns Park starting at 5:30 PM, with a headcount of attendees and dogs taking place at 6:00 PM. A joint walk through the city centre will follow, with corgis and their owners walking together.

Afterwards, participants will move to Kronvalda Park, where a Royal British tea picnic is scheduled for 7:00 PM, offering a relaxed close to the celebration in the spirit of British tea traditions.

Getting ready for the walk

Organisers remind participants to check beforehand that they have everything needed for both people and dogs, and to make sure their four-legged companions are prepared for the outing. The Royal Corgi Walk has become an annual tradition in Riga, gathering corgi enthusiasts to jointly honour the memory of Queen Elizabeth II and her special bond with the breed.
