Central Riga will hold the Royal Corgi Walk on Friday, September 11 — an event now taking place for the fourth year in a row. The gathering traditionally brings together hundreds of corgis alongside their owners in one place.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be available to watch remotely, as TVNET will provide a live broadcast from the walk.
Morning preparations in Āgenskalns
Ahead of the main event, a small British-style gathering took place earlier this morning in the Āgenskalns neighborhood. Early in the morning, before the workday began, a modest breakfast tea table was set up, complete with British-style sandwiches. Corgi owners gathered around it to discuss the details of the upcoming walk.
Such an informal get-together before the main event has already become part of the tradition, reflecting the close-knit nature of the corgi-owner community and the care put into preparing for the walk.
