Riga's municipal extracurricular education institutions are today launching the "Come and Take Part!" campaign, which includes open-door days across the capital. The event will run for two weeks, during which anyone interested can attend various classes free of charge and get acquainted with what is on offer before deciding which activity to pursue.

Extracurricular education has long remained consistently popular among children and young people in Latvia. Organisers note a recent trend of more children choosing activities related to STEM fields — science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

A chance to try before choosing

The goal of the open-door days is to help children and parents navigate the wide range of extracurricular programmes offered by Riga's institutions. Over the two weeks, anyone interested will be able to attend trial classes in various fields, making it easier to decide which activity suits them best.
