Riga marks its 825th anniversary with music, sport and street art
On Saturday Riga is holding large-scale celebrations for the city's 825th anniversary, with concerts, circus shows, a craft fair and other events across several city locations.

Riga is celebrating its 825th anniversary on Saturday with a wide range of events taking place throughout the day at several locations across the city.
Residents and visitors can enjoy circus performances, concerts, a craft fair, a festive restaurant, basketball activities, creative workshops, a car show, street art and mime performances.
Where the celebrations are held
The events are spread across some of Riga's most popular spots — Vermanes Garden, Victory Park, the square by the Riga Congress Centre, Eksporta Street, the Esplanade, the square by the Opera house, as well as Old Riga and the 11th of November Embankment.
The broad program allows both locals and visitors to choose activities according to their interests — from enjoying art and music to sports activities and creative workshops for families.
