Latvia's State Police has reported that intensified traffic checks were carried out on Riga's streets over three days as part of the international "Roadpol Safety Days" campaign. The enhanced enforcement effort led to the identification of 97 traffic violations in total.

The most common violation was aggressive driving, with 31 such cases recorded. The second most frequent offense was running a red traffic light, which police documented on 25 occasions.

"Roadpol Safety Days" is an international initiative aimed at improving road safety by stepping up oversight of drivers' behavior on streets and roads. During such campaigns, police resources are focused on curbing specific types of violations, including dangerous maneuvers and failure to follow traffic rules at intersections.

The State Police say they will continue monitoring the situation on Riga's streets and are urging drivers to observe traffic regulations in order to reduce the risk of accidents.
