The Riga municipal government has introduced a new public transport lane on Rostokas Street, covering the section between Anniņmuižas Street and Zolitūdes Street. The information was provided to the LETA news agency by the municipality.

The new lane runs in the direction from Anniņmuižas Street toward Zolitūdes Street. Its main purpose is to increase the speed of public transport movement along this stretch and to improve the regularity of bus schedules.

By setting aside a dedicated lane for public transport, the municipality aims to reduce delays that occur when buses share road space with general traffic. A separate lane allows buses to keep moving even when the rest of the traffic on this section of the street becomes heavier or congested.

The measure is part of the Riga municipality's broader effort to make public transport more attractive and efficient throughout the capital.
