Riga to restrict traffic on 11 Novembra Embankment for six weeks over bike lane works
From August 20 to September 30, Riga will restrict both vehicle and pedestrian movement on a section of 11 Novembra Embankment between Stone Bridge and Railway Bridge due to bike lane construction. The announcement was made by Riga City Council.
Riga City Council has announced a temporary traffic restriction in the city centre linked to the construction of a new bicycle path.
The restriction covers the section of 11 Novembra Embankment between the Stone Bridge (Akmens tilts) and the Railway Bridge (Dzelzceļa tilts). Movement will be closed in the direction of the Railway Bridge, and the limitation applies to both vehicle traffic and pedestrian movement along this stretch.
The works are scheduled to run from August 20 through September 30 of this year, lasting roughly six weeks.
Riga City Council is advising residents and road users to expect changes when travelling through this section of the embankment during the specified period.
