Baltic record set in Riga: 226 corgis gather at charity walk

Riga's central Bastejkalns park hosted the fourth Royal Corgi Walk, where a record-breaking 226 corgis gathered, setting a new Baltic record. The number surpasses last year's result of 198 dogs by 28 animals.

A colorful, cheerful gathering

Participating dogs appeared in a wide range of themed outfits, including golden crowns, British flag motifs, floral dresses, butterfly and hat accessories, and royal-style capes. The event drew countless camera flashes from onlookers and photographers, along with live coverage from local television stations, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout.

A Baltic-wide achievement

Organizers and participants note that this marks the largest number of corgis ever assembled in one place in the Baltic states. It is also considered possibly one of the largest corgi gatherings of its kind in Europe. Now held for a fourth consecutive year in the heart of Riga, the walk continues to attract growing numbers of dogs and their owners each year, reflecting rising interest in the breed and its community of enthusiasts in Latvia.
