On Sunday, an unusual Guinness World Record attempt took place in Riga: simultaneous blowing of fog horns. The event gathered approximately 800 participants, of whom 611 managed to blow fog horns continuously for at least ten seconds, surpassing the required threshold of 250 people for the record. A Guinness World Record representative confirmed the new record in the category "Most people blowing fog horns simultaneously." The record attempt was the culmination of the Latvian sailing centenary celebrations. Organizers had prepared for a large number of participants, and although the initial requirement was at least 250 people, the actual number far exceeded that.
