Riga beats RFS in derby, Tallā's wonder goal not enough

In the culmination of round 18 of the Latvian Virslīga, Riga defeated RFS 2:1 at home, narrowing the gap to the league leaders to just one point.

Tonight's top match of the Virslīga's 18th round saw the two league leaders face off, with Riga hosting RFS in a tense derby. Riga emerged victorious with a 2:1 scoreline, closing the gap to their rivals to a single point. RFS suffered the defeat despite a stunning goal from Mora Tallā, which is sure to be a contender for goal of the season. Playing on home turf, Riga managed to score twice, while RFS could only reply once, with Tallā's individual brilliance providing the highlight. Although RFS still holds the top spot, Riga's win makes the title race even tighter.
