Cyclist dies after fall in Riga; police investigate
On Friday afternoon in Riga's Jugla district, a cyclist fell and died at the scene. The State Police are investigating the circumstances.

On Friday around 3 p.m., a tragic traffic accident occurred in Riga's Jugla neighborhood. A cyclist fell from his bicycle and died at the scene. The State Police reported that the accident was registered at 2:56 p.m. at Juglas krastmala 2. The circumstances are currently being clarified.
Over the past 24 hours, a total of 146 traffic accidents were recorded across Latvia. Among these, 16 people were injured and one person – this cyclist – died. In the field of road traffic, 499 administrative penalty decisions were issued, including 207 for speeding and three for aggressive driving. Additionally, two administrative offense proceedings and seven criminal proceedings were initiated for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
