Driver with approximately 4‰ alcohol level detained in central Riga
A driver under the influence of alcohol (approximately 4‰) caused a crash in central Riga on Kalna Street, hitting two parked cars, then continued to Lāčplēša Street, where a Volvo driver stopped him and called the police.

According to the TV program "Degpunktā", on July 15, 2026, a driver was detained in central Riga after getting behind the wheel with an alcohol concentration of approximately 4‰.
His trip began on Kalna Street, where he collided with two parked cars – a Honda and a BMW. Without reporting the accident, he continued driving until he reached Lāčplēša Street.
There, a Volvo driver noticed his dangerous driving, managed to stop the Audi, and called the police. The police stated that the driver's alcohol level was approximately 4‰.
