Riga Circus hosts premieres of two contemporary dance pieces, 'Solo' and 'My Eyes' Translation'
Two contemporary dance premieres, 'Solo' and 'My Eyes' Translation', took place on the same evening at the Riga Circus arena, inviting audiences into a calm, unhurried observation of objects and bodies.

The Riga Circus arena hosted premieres of two contemporary dance works, 'Solo' and 'My Eyes' Translation', on the same evening. Though different in form, both pieces share a common mood — an invitation to quiet, focused observation that pulls attention away from everyday noise.
'Solo'
In 'Solo', the dark, domed space of the arena fills with striking visual images: rainbow-coloured soap bubbles shimmering and slowly fading into the air, and coins tossed upward that, upon falling, swirl across the arena floor like racehorses. One recurring image in the piece is a rake balanced with remarkable calm atop a performer's head.
'My Eyes' Translation'
The second piece, 'My Eyes' Translation', centres on the interplay of two bodies, marked by a subtle, sensual and nuanced physical energy that creates a distinctive magnetic connection between the dancers.
According to the reviewer, the two works meeting on the same evening in the same arena feels far from coincidental — both lead viewers toward calm, inward observation in which the presence of objects and bodies takes precedence over narrative action. The Riga Circus once again serves as an unconventional yet fitting venue for contemporary dance, offering a distinctive architectural and acoustic setting for such performances.
