On Wednesday, July 8, the Riga City Council supported amendments to the pilot project of the unified public transport ticket. The changes include extending the ticket's validity until the end of the year and expanding its territory from the current A zone to all five "Vivi" train zones – A, B, C, D and E. This will allow significantly more passengers to benefit from the unified ticket, facilitating smoother transfers between trains and Riga's public transport.
The unified ticket combines one "Vivi" train ride on a selected route with one 90-minute ticket for buses, trolleybuses and trams. The price for the A zone remains unchanged at €2. For the expanded zones, the price ranges from €2.80 to €4.30. Some diesel train services may have an additional surcharge according to "Vivi" tariffs.
The pilot project was launched in July 2025. Last year, over 15,000 passengers used the unified ticket, and in the first half of this year, the number already exceeded 10,000. The Riga Council stated that the amendments will help implement the goal set in Riga's development plan to promote cooperation in mobility between Riga and the Pierīga region.
The unified ticket is available only digitally – on the "Vivi" website and mobile app "Vivi Latvija". It cannot be purchased at railway ticket offices or from conductors. The changes will take effect on July 24.
