Latvian Language Agency to Give Away Essay Collection at Riga Book Festival
On 6 November, the Latvian Language Agency is running a promotion at the Riga Book Festival: visitors who say a secret phrase will receive an essay collection as a gift. The prize pool contains 21 copies.
The Latvian Language Agency (LVA) invites visitors to its stand at the Riga Book Festival on 6 November, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. A promotion will take place there, and participants need to know a secret phrase.
What to do
Visitors at the stand must say the phrase "Einstein effect" ("Einšteina efekts"). In return, they will be given a gift copy of the 21st edition of the popular-science essay collection "Valodas prakse: vērojumi un ieteikumi" ("Language Practice: Observations and Recommendations"). The prize pool holds 21 copies in total, so not every interested visitor will receive one.
About the phrase
More about the "Einstein effect" can be found in the article "Valoda un manipulācija" ("Language and Manipulation") by Jurģis Šķilters and Linda Apse, published in this collection.
How to buy the collection
The collection can also be purchased at the Latvian Language Agency itself. More information about the agency's book sales is available on its website, valoda.lv, in the "Books" section.
